some thoughts on weather
Today, during my personal shavasana between yoga classes (AKA. nap) from enjoying the sound of raindrops splashing against the windows, I felt a bright light tilt, thinking that it was the yoga instructor turning on the lights. A few seconds later, a blasting crisp thunder broke the sky (setting off several car alarms), and I thought: THUNDERSTORM!

That bright lightning and thunder really "brightened up" my morning. Now I'd like to share my delight. =)
I don't think there are many people who appreciate lightning, something I consider as a gift, a spectacle from mother nature. Thunderstorms are hard to come across with, they only happen when specific clouds form in the sky; the exact location and time of the lightnings are still unpredictable, they can strike anywhere, anytime; not to mention the sharp loud thunders, you are lucky if you hear one in every thunderstorm. All these enigmatic characteristics of thunderstorms fascinate me, and every time I observe a thunderstorm, I am like a child awing from mystical magic.
Taipei's weather has been crazy: sudden pour from the skies, followed by warm sunshine, accompanied by another long round of heavy rains. It's a torture for many people, but I am enjoying this kind of weather instability. I truly savor crazy weather, and I dig catastrophic, apocalyptic days like today's. No, lightnings haven't struck me in my head so I'm not out of my mind. These weather changes are just too beautiful to be ignored!
Don't get me wrong, I like all sorts of days. Sunny days are excellent opportunities to go out. Cloudy gloomy days are perfect to take it slow. And rainy days are great compliments for coffee and readings. Really, what's so bad bout rain? It's just annoying to walk the dogs, you might get wet, cabs are harder to catch, can't wear nice shoes (they might get spoiled), can't wear nice pants (legs are too short the cuffs might get soaked), zero outdoor activity...
Apart from (all) that, there's nothing wrong about some good splashes of water!
But you know what is NOT good? Humidity.
I can stand any kind of weather condition as long as it's not humid. Humidity just ruins everything, in fact I don't think you can relate it with any nice weather.
Cold + humidity = effing chilly to the bones
Hot + humidity = effing stinky BOs
I'd rather waste hundreds a month on lotions and moisturizers to keep my skin hydrated, than to spend $3 for eczema emulsions to treat fungus growing on the body. Eek.
Aaanyway, just wanted to share my love for thunderstorms. Seriously, they are not that terrifying! Here are some beautiful images of lightnings, or you can go here
