leaving the office yesterday night, i was appalled.
not by the fact that i stayed up late in the office trying to bs my research in chinese and still am no where near finishing it (man, i cannot write in chinese!), but because it was Feb 8th, 9pm, and the weather felt and smelled like those of a late-summer eve! the skies were blue and clear, and the clouds were helluva lovely. checked the temperature, it said 22C. omg... wtf?!
where's the cold front that was supposed to hit tw that afternoon?!!!
why is it that hard to give a more accurate weather forecast for a tiny island?
and why, oh why, am i NOT wearing my puffy jacket because the weather's too hot?!

i feel the breeze

6:30pm, i step out of the office building with a small smile on my face
other than being done with my work of the day
i see a dark sky, absolutely black, without a hint of sunlight coming from the skies
instead, it's replaced with exaggerated neon lights from the tall buildings and sign boards
"ah~~~" i think to myself, "finally, the days are shorter. which means that the nights are longer, which means the weather is about to get colder, with means that my favorite seasons are getting closer, which means that summer is about to be over, which means the F***ing bugs will be FINALLY GONE!"
and that's when my small smile turns into a huge evil grin. die bugs! DIE!!! =P
oh, i love cold weathers~~
time to start eyeing for new boots! kekeke

i'm tired!!!
been staring at the computer whole day, yet not focused enough to finish my work. damn it!
ever since my team moved to a different area, it has been more and more difficult for me to stay focused on what i'm doing.
because i've become the freaking info desk lady!! >___<

"excuse me miss, can you tell me who's XXX?"
"who?? i don't know either"

"i'm sorry, where's the meeting room? i have an appointment"
"it's, erh... " (taking out the floor plan, then realized that meeting rooms are not mapped on it)

"delivery!"
"if u push that package one inch closer to my face, i'll smack that thing on your head, u rude!"

yup, having a low-partitioned cubicle that faces the elevator is not fun. i don't like when people come in and interrupt me obnoxiously (i dun mind helping out the polite ones, but some can be quite rude), specially when i'm in the middle of something very important (and no, not msn =P). another co-worker and i have even printed out an A3 size floor map with all the different names and extension #s, yet still, people come and pop out random questions.

where can i find a 3D floor map?

also, janet and i are wondering if the place we moved really has a bad fung-shuei. ever since we moved there, we've been having pimples on our faces, sometimes really baaad ones. or maybe it's the cigarettes' smoke coming outta boss' office? or just bad air overall? or me eating too much crap?

BUT BUT BUT!!!
YUI'S COMING TO TAIWAN~~~
YAY!!! LA LA LAH~~~~~~~~~~~
i'm so happy!!! miss her so much! it's such a wonderful thing that she can come over for a weekend, because once you start working, it's so hard to find the right time to take a few days off from "the routine". got some ideas of where to take her, hehe
but no matter where we go, her presence and company will make it even more fun! ^__^

the only person left to visit is aya =( i should start thinking of ways to meet up with her, keke

countdown of days til yui arrives starts NOW!

office updates

so, got a new addiction at work. chew gum.
yup, this grl is chewing gum like crazy... finishing packs after packs of gum. it's not an actual new addiction, since i've been carrying packs of Orbits almost everywhere i go when back in Seattle, but back then it was coz i needed to get rid of the starsux coffee aftertaste between breaks (love coffees, but they don't leave a refreshing breath coz of the milk, and well... it's not polite to talk to pple w/horrible breath in my opinion). as for now... i chew gum just because.
i chew when i come into the office, chew while doing data searching, chew when i feel my mouth is empty.
and discovered a very interesting fenomenon:
i've been chewing so many Airwaves that i cannot feel the effects of Listerine anymore!!!
amazing...
those Airwaves are damn powerful indeed!

then, still waiting for the rest of my uniform to come. they gave us the cloths for the uniform months ago, and the stupid tailor is taking too long to finish our orders.
here's a tip for ya: if you don't have enough pple making the suits, then DON'T take so many orders at once! we don't mind looking for other tailors.
another tip: the measurements you took were for you to make suits according to each and every single INDIVIDUAL measurement, not for you to come up with free-size garments. that's why it's called "tailor-made"
got my skirt and a shirt for now, enough to come to work, still...
I WANT A COMPLETE SUIT! i want my jacket demmit!! >__<

last. i stopped shopping, and haven't used the credit card for a while, yet for some reason my savings account is decreasing. wtf...
@___@
where did my money go?!!!! coz i need money now... buuuu~~~
happy that tmr's 15th, payday! but i still owe my sis some money from previous months, she's been a great 0%APR loan~
first was mark, and now it's my sister. so glad that i'm able to find 0% credits with unlimited payments, kekeke

i wanna go home now... =( i miss meggie...

You Are Sunrise
You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary. You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward. Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts. All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

hm... but i think i like sunsets better...

awsome!

ok, just found out bout this, artificial "Beer Belly"
when i first read the article bout this topic i could not stop wondering and picturing the image in my head. we've seen beer helmets, beer kegs, beer fridges, all contributing to the ever fattening american society. apparently, those beer driking helpers were drawing too much attention from others and i guess that's why they came up with a more subtle device for those beer lovers.
i mean, if drinking beer gives you beer belly (eventually), then why not have one right from the start, right?!

pros: you can carry this and drink whenever you want, wherever you want
cons: you can carry this and drink whenever you want, wherever you want

but must admit the idea is quite brilliant, literally having a "beer belly" yet not really. you're "fat", but during the course of a game you'll somehow loose that tummy (by drinking it out, kekeke). and who said that watching a game with some drinks at hand will make you fat?! muuuahahahaha

googled and found an official website of it ^__^
http://www.thebeerbelly.com/

the price seems a bit exp. $50 for a belly, although can be re-used, but it's described as a "spared tire" after all... now i wonder how long it can keep the drinks cool... warm human heat beer sounds nasty...

and i also wonder... can humans get anymore lazier than this?! >_< lol

i dun mind bout the silly goofy ads, heck, it's a FREE CAR!
not that i hate my old ankochan, but... still... when you compare ankochan with a benz... that a LOT of difference neh!
i'm sure that at least that car's front windows can roll down =(

arrrgggghhhhhhhhh. apftt
bitter...

ew eeeewwww~~~~

had a really good workout yesterday! YAY
went to the gym for a different class this time, a Funky class. haha~ turned out quite funky indeed! the room was packed, coz it turned out that the instructor is this really famous guy in the work-out/gym industry in taiwan. he goes to tv shows and apparently teaches dance moves to some artists here, hm... interesting
but he's quite cool and funny~! he kinda feels like a gym version robin williams (of course, not the appearance part)
gosh... the class made me sweat like a pig! all those jumping and moving around... left knee feels funny now but i dun care, coz i'm seldom this happy bout sweating that much. =D
you must give credit to a person if he/she can be so 台 and still make all those cheesy 芭樂歌 fun and enjoyable. hehe~
big round of applause!!!!

now... on the way back, saw this on a side wall of NY NY.

eeewwwwww....

no comments... but i think i can definitely use this as a strong argument for my thesis

dr. shaun, i miss u~

need chiro. NOW~~~
my whole body is in pain, and i think i'm making even more bone cracking sounds (from my vertebrae) than i used to. and oh~! the crackings round my neck~!!!
i think my head will roll off from my body any time from now...

this is all from the Body Pump class... went there a couple days ago, and now all my muscles are complaining, specially those from my upper body. stupid unclear class schedules, not explaining the classes in details, thus misleading me in getting into something i'm unsure of.
anyway, it was a full hour weight class!! pure muscle toning!
weights = resistance = unsuitable for nongi
alright... it was decent, a good class for those who'd like to refine their curves and test their body limits. but BAD BAD for someone who can't do even ONE pushup.
hence, the pain that i'm going thru now T_T

one other reason why i decided to go to the class, totally irrelevant to the pain topic, is that i wanted to prove myself wrong and reverse my stereotyping misconception.
prove what wrong?
so here's the deal. don't take it personal, y'alrite?
anyway, yui and i came to a conclusion that asian guys are pretty... gay
maybe it's coz we're not seeing enough, maybe we're looking in the wrong places, or maybe it's just as simple as having a bad luck. but in any case, seems that all the guys that we're encountering/observing in our countries are quite sissy.
damn, i think i'm raising male hatred against me...

ok, let's slightly modify mybiased prejudice/thesis: asian guys that i'm seeing in asia (eg. tw), are not as "macho" as i would expect them to be. (that means, those of u who are outside tw can ignore this blog entry, and we can all be friends again~! yay!)
there~ tada~~

uh! i've left my original topic way too far.
so, summary: i went to the gym expecting to see more "decent" guys in order to reverse my misconception bout "asian guys in asia are quite gay".
facts: saw relatively more guys. in the streets, office buildings, and inside the gym. checked out working guys, working-out guys, random walking guys but still... all average and below...
(maybe need to observe from more sample groups next time)
conclusion: my proposal still stands. nevertheless, i'll continue this experiment until i prove myself wrong (sorry mark... i tried...)

there MUST be something missing here that i'm not getting... coz, how can it be?! how can both jp and tw not providing sufficient eye candy for the ladies?!!!
... i don't get it... i really don't...

AAAAnyway, dun care that much bout eye candy now, eye candy cannot relief me from backpain. gimme dr. shaun first~~ a masseuse will also do ^_^

..........

i'm bored!
i'm bored i'm bored i'm bored!!!!

bored to a point it's not funny anymore
no new cases, no new documents, so all that i get to do these days is just sit in my chair, face the computer screen, and read some busines/company related articles that they pass around.
hmmmmmmmm...

read some briefings bout previous expos aborad, man, how i wish i can go abroad and help out w/the expos too! saudi arabia, uruguay, slovakia, anywhere is fine w/me. i don't mind the flight, and i won't complain bout their local food either...
just plz take me~~~~

last week, during one of the big boss' daily walk inspections, he stopped by and was commenting bout his search for an english speaking person to go to the singapore food expo...

uh uh uh~!!! ME ME!!- i thought
"i need someone who can really speak english" he said

arghh~~ MEMEME!! i'm here~! RIGHT in FRONT OF U!- why can't you hear my silent yearnings!?!
"...really. any suggestion? do you recommend anyone?"

and before i realized, i raised and waved my hands at him very exitedly...
T__T
kinda embarrasing moment... coz a lot of pple laughed... wth

"no lah~ you cannot go yet, i need someone more experienced, but u'll get your chance", and that was his subtle decline
apffttttt.... #$^%^#*- .... no comments

bleh... gosh i'm hella bored...

my co-worker was the first one who showed me a pix of wanwan and i found it hilarious. dl-ed some pix and replaced my beloved kogepan for it. then the other day went to eslite w/jeff, and we both got her book "可不可以不要上班"

my heroine

caught Aeon Flux on MTV yesterday! YAY!
it was late at night and i needed some good entertainment to help with my late-night spacing out when MTV suddenly started playing Aeon Flux
i was shocked at first. gosh... that show hasn't been on for years! and it was such a cool show~
but to tell the truth, AF is kinda too weird... well, i've always thought that it was quite scifi, but i guess watching that snow again at this age made me observe the show from a different perspective
lust, social issues, sexual oppression, some more lust
or is it me being the one who's too perverted?

anyway, watching AF is always entertaining. forgot how much i used to love the show! ^^
it doesn't have many dialogues, but when they talk it's so synical~!
my kinda conversation.

was invited to watch the movie version, but my bro in law has the pirated version in his pc already. watched a bit and... it sucked. maybe coz the movie was not clear enough, maybe the translation was not good enough, or simply maybe the subtitiles were in freaking simplified chinese... whatever it was, it was not good =(
cartoon version is better! =)

lunch break

decorated my cubicle today, not much, just 2 postcards that i really like. they've been with me for a while, throughout the past moving experiences.
it actually looks a weird/ghetto. a seattle and a whistler postcard on one side of my wall.
yeah... random... like me

work's same old fashion. a lot of pple still dun understand my duties at work.
me neither.
right now, i guess it's just trying to get familiar with the company's environment and their way of doing business pah... (ps. kinda gov job, so quite slack)

some things that are quite upsetting:
-was checking on my employee personal info, and they typed my english name wrong. ~__~
claudia is kinda back for use (not just coffee name anymore) since they wanted me to put it on the info sheet, but they typed it as claudTa...
wtf... what kinda name is that? i emailed the HR for change yet still no reply
-they finally gave me an official employee swiping card. again, wrong name printed on it... 憹 instead of 儂. i dun remember my chinese handwrinting is THAT bad...
...GAY
-got my check today, thought they were giving it out all together next month. i guess since feb is shorter and there were a few days off for new years, they've reduced feb wage. and after taxes and stupid benefits and stuff, i'm left with some poor-looking check.
i rather they give me alltogether next month. at least the sum would look nicer
-and today, i saw this street dog laying in front of a convenient store. i gave him a piece of my leftover bread but the dog didn't move at all... then the lady next door told me that the dog is hella picky coz too many people feed him everyday. he's spoiled and only eat canned food...
me was very T____Tlll

thing to buy when i'm rich

i've never really thought of a list of things to buy when i'm rich, coz i know that if i ever do so, those things will never come true. u know, the higher the expectations, the bigger the dissapointment. that's why i think that it's better to save money first and then spend it on things that i think is worth spending on.
but i saw something the other day that i really want, and it'll do me good.
and the special thing is... (drums roll~~) --tada~~ a rear camara for cars!!
this type of gadget is not new in the car industry, but it was my first time to experiece its use.
my friend was backing up for parking when the screen in his car suddenly showed the image of the back of the car.
OOOOH~~~~~~ me VERY IMPRESSED
u dun need to turn ur head back for reverse and with the camara in the back, you can tell the distance that u have from the back of your car till wateva's behind.
imagine me drivin a car w/that kinda camara! oooh~ it would be sweet. lives of tons of bumpers would be saved when i do a paralel parking!
me want that >____<

eaten for granted

hm... never thought that i would say this but...
i miss QFC!!!!!! i miss US food!!! >____<
weird, huh?
it all happened yesterday, when i was trying to cook some food after a few days of horrible and not-that-cheap take outs. my parents went to argentina for a few weeks, which means that there's only my brother and i left in the house. my brother doesn't really cook, and me, well... neither, therefore, whenever i'm back at home we would end up discussing for 10min bout our dinner plans. our whole conversation would be like the following:
bro: "so... what do u wanna eat for dinner?"
me: "... dunno... what do U wanna eat?"
bro: "i'll eat whatever u want to. u tell me and i'll go get it"
me: "but i dunno what's around. so why dun u think and whatever u feel like gettin, get 2 of it"
bro: "... but tell me what u want!"
me: "........ "
bro: "........................."

and for some reason, we always end up gettin some flavorless shitty food... was my impression about delicious food in tw wrong??? all those years living abroad, what made us foreign students miss most was our hometown food, our mouth would release extra saliva whenever we think about it. then how come that now i'm back, my stomach still hasn't felt the satisfaction of being filled by delicacy at all?
that's what made me wanna cook yesterday. i'm too sick of eatin boring yucky stuff. it's not right that my dream of good food was being broken. so i went to the nearest supermarket to get some groceries, thinking that i might be able to prepare something more decent than take-outs.
and it took me 40min to get 3 items... all coz there was nothing interesting to buy, nothing "looked" yummy... the food was not fresh at all...
that's when i started wishing there was a QFC here... i miss QFC now... eventho i seldom buy groceries in QFC, but at least i enjoyed my grocery runs. they were pleasant with a good variety of choices, unlike yesterday's...

our dinner last nite was this cream sauce spaghetti using canned soup and milk with tuna and onion. but it wasn't till later when i heard that my brother doesn't like italian pasta...
i cooked anyway, but the food didn't turn out as good as i had expected... there was some flavor missing and i didn't know how to improve it. it was obvious that my poor bro forced himself to finish his plate since he added a huge hot chilli next to his pasta just to cover the taste.
i feel bad that i made my brother eat that horrible plate. all he said was "... it's too dry..." but he ate it all anyway. he normally wouldn't touch food that he doesn't like, so he was really sweet yesterday not bitching bout my cooking.
hehehe~~ my bro is really nice to me ^__^
that's why i felt so bad and funny in a way when my bro saw the leftover pasta on the pan and asked me bout it in a very worried tone, " ...that much pasta left?!"
hahahaha~~~ i could feel his worries and panic

dun worry bro, now i brought the leftover over to my sis' place. MUUUahahahaha~~~ and make her and the kids taste the horror.
that's it. i've decided to shop in another grocery store now. i dun care, i will not live with shitty food!!!
